Visionaries like you work on teams that save lives by developing the medicines of tomorrow.</p><p></p><p>Join us in developing treatments, finding cures, and pioneering the path from lab to life while championing patients every step of the way.</p><p></p><p>Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine</p><p></p><h2><b>Purpose:</b></h2><p></p><p>We are seeking an outstanding Associate Scientist II for our in vitro discovery and protein engineering group, who can support the development, implementation, and utilization of phage and yeast display libraries for antibody discovery, or other emerging molecular optimization techniques to support the development of biologics (multispecific antibodies, CAR-T, ADCs, etc.) in various disease areas. The position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in the discovery and molecular engineering of biotherapeutics while also developing new processes and technologies for biologics discovery. The position&#39;s responsibilities also include portfolio project leadership and interaction with world-class scientists in different therapeutic areas, including oncology, immunology, metabolic diseases, neurology, and infectious diseases. This position is laboratory-based, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work with biological samples and chemicals.</p><p></p><h2><b>You will be responsible for:</b></h2><p></p><ul><li>Performing and optimizing in vitro display techniques such as phage display and yeast display for molecule discovery and selection.</li><li>Conducting experiments involving DNA/RNA library construction, DNA purification, protein expression, purification, and characterization.</li><li>Executing assays to evaluate the binding, off-rate, and functionality of selected candidates (flow cytometry, ELISA, Octet, etc.).</li><li>Analyzing, interpreting, and documenting experimental data while maintaining accurate and detailed records.</li><li>Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support project objectives and timelines.</li><li>Contributing to troubleshooting, protocol development, and the continuous improvement of laboratory workflows.</li><li>Preparing technical reports, presentations, and summaries for internal discussions and external collaborations.</li></ul><p></p><h2><b>Qualifications:</b></h2><p></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.</li><li>Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, cloning, and transformations, etc.</li><li>Familiarity with in vitro display technologies (e.g., phage display, yeast display) is highly desirable.</li><li>Proficiency in assay development, including ELISA and other binding/activity assays, is a plus.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.</li></ul><p></p><h2><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></h2><p></p><ul><li>Experience with automation platforms or high-throughput screening systems.</li><li>Knowledge of bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis and library design.</li><li>Prior experience in therapeutic discovery or biotechnology industries.</li></ul><p></p><p>Johnson &amp; Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
